Julia Farrell

B.Com., CA, M.Tax


Julia was nominated and selected as Tasmania's Young Regional Advocate for 2018 by Chartered Accountants Australian and New Zealand. This award recognises young members for their contribution to the profession through participation in CAANZ panels, committees and events and through representing the profession at seminars and conferences and being active in promoting Chartered Accounting as a career. Julia was nominated and selected as a result of her work with the Tasmanian Northern Young Professionals Network, The Young Tax Professionals Discussion Group and Westpac's Ruby Connection Women's Group and with community groups such as Illuminate NextGen challenge and the Launceston Harvest Market. Julia has also recently presented on recent tax reforms at the TIA State Conference.

Julia joined Ruddicks on a part time basis while studying for her Bachelor of Commerce degree and started working full time in tax, superannuation and business services after graduation.

Having completed the Chartered Accountants Program and qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Julia subsequently completed a Master of Taxation degree through the University of New South Wales.

Working predominantly with small business clients, deceased estates and high wealth individuals, Julia advises in the areas of tax planning and investment structures. She also assists partners and managers at Ruddicks with research on various tax topics and regularly writes the Ruddicks newsletter which is published on our website and sent to our clients to keep them up to date with important tax changes.
